(**Since my Onii-chan has finally arrived, I feel the serious need for interaction<3**) Rye sat on the bank of the Onose river, dangling her feet into the cool, rushing water, humming happily to herself. There was a cool breeze cutting through the summer's usual heat, and sending the smell of fresh air to her nose, and messing her hair. But messy hair couldn't spoil her mood... Not today!
It had been two months and six days since she'd been put on patrol in Karakura town, and hadn't stepped foot into Seireitei, or her home, since the beginning of her assignment... and, frankly, she missed it. Though Rye had grown accustomed to the pace in which people lived in the World of the Living, and had made friends with Inoue-chan and Ishida-kun, she missed the familiar faces of her fellow squad members, the captains, and especially... her Onii-chan.
But today was a good day. Today she'd be seeing her big brother for the first time in, what felt like, forever. He'd be meeting her here in - she checked her watch - eight minutes (probably right down to the second. Juushiro's punctuality was as sharp as Sogyo No Kotowari).
Rye grinned, her eyes sparkling; she couldn't wait!

Ukitake was headed toward Onose River, knowing he was somewhat early, but not really caring.
After all, what was 8 minutes to a man who had seen over 2000 years?
He was glad that his little sister was kept safe from the coming dangers of the war. It didn't stop him from missing her when she was gone for long periods of time, however. The white haired man chuckled as he saw Rye's hair messed up by the wind.
That always bugs her to no end, doesn't it?
He quietly chuckled to himself as he tried to sneak up behind her, grinning the whole while.
