((First RP. I'm hoping for the best)) Sometimes, Jūshirō made her laugh; not because he ever said anything that was particularly funny, but because his hypocrisy was just so amusing. He always complained about Kuchiki Taicho keeping Rukia from moving up in the Thirteenth Division to keep her out of harms way. But what was he doing now? Making sure that Rye stayed as far away from the frays of the Soul Societies war with Sōsuke Aizen as humanly possible. And no amount of pleading or begging on her part could change his mind. The youngest Ukitake child sighed inwardly, stuffing her hands in her pockets as she walked through Karakura town's shopping district with a soul candy in her pocket. Yup. There was a war approaching, and the closest she could get to taking part in it was wandering the streets in an uncomfortable Gigai, trolling for low level hollows in the spirit rich little town. Though anger wasn't a regular emotion for her, she was certainly feeling something akin to it bubbling inside her; her power and abilites as a fifth seat in the fifth division was going to waste... And what was worse was she really had no idea where to stay while she was here. She knew the Kurosaki boy occasionally housed Shinigami when they visited the World of the Living... But she'd also heard from Rukia-kun that the most comfortable accomidations there were a dark, tiny closet. And that just didn't jive with her. And then there was the former twelfth Captain, Kisuke Urahara... Who had always been close with her Hirako Taicho before they had fled from Seireitei. Heck, even her brother had good things to say about him. But from what she understood, he already had other Soul Reapers staying at his place. Still... She shook her head. Regardless of everything, there was one thing she knew for sure; Rangiku-san was right - The shopping here was fantastic!

Renji couldn't believe it. Urahara had him.. HIM shopping! The crowded shopping district only further grated against his nerves and The Red-Head had no clue where to go. The list from the crazy shop-Keeper was very simple but Renji had no Idea where to find the items. He glared heatedly at the white slip of paper with writting on it. Maybe it would give him answers if he glared at it long enough...
Maybe not. The stares from passers-by were starting to get to him so he stopped glaring and walked on uptill her almost ran in to a smaller woman with jet black hair. "Sorry!" He said, hoping he hadn't really hit her.

Though the man had barely brushed past her, the contact had pulled her from the cloud of upset in her brain, bringing her back to reality. She cleared her throat, ready to apologize for being careless, when a familliar male voice beat her to the punch. Looking up it's source, she found her eyes resting on a headfull of firey red hair, and brown eyes. Ah, the semblance of familliarity in this otherwise foreign place lightened her mood a little bit. Though he, in a similarly aggrivated and dazed state, had yet to have the same realization that she had. She wondered absently what he was doing in amongst the clothing stores, but let the thought flee as she flipped her hair from her eyes, and smiled up at the sixth division's Vice-Captain. "You should watch where you're going, Renji." She joked.

Renji felt like his mind hit a brick wall as he stared down at none other than the youngest Ukitake Sibling. "Sorry Rye, Urahara has me doing the shopping and I've never really been here before." Renji rubbed the back off his neck with one hand, the other still clutching to the white shopping list.
"What are you doing in the human world?" Renji asked, curious as to why Rye wasn't preparing for battle with the other Shinigami. The Girl could definately handle herself.

Rye huffed, something dark filling her eyes. It seemed funny that Renji had asked her the same question she'd been asking her self since arriving here. With a sigh, she shrugged. "I'm on Hollow patrol, it would seem" She stuffed her hands in her pockets, and weaved the Yuki soul candy through her fingers. "Since the usual Shinigami in charge of the area are busy preparing for the war, Jushiro suggested I take over... Apparently my brother thinks I'm incapable of fighting the Arrancar." Gods, that irked her. And she probably could have ranted to Abarai Fukutaicho for a solid twenty minutes on the matter, but she thought better of it. With a dismissive wave of her hands, she laughed the subject away. "What has Urahara-Dono got you searching for? I can't promise I'll be much help, but two heads are better than one... Or so I've heard."

Renji smiled down at Rye. "I don't mind having help at all. thank you." Renji said, thinking for a moment before deciding to speak, hoping Rye wouldn't get angry.
"Captain Ukitake is just worried about you. It's the exact same situation with Rukia and Captain Kuchiki. This may not be what you really want to hear but think about it."
Renji placed a hand on Rye's shoulder gently, "I never had anyone to watch out for me and to help me out. Your brother doesn't want you to learn the hard way because the things I've seen and done aren't pretty. Captain Ukitake is just nudging you along on the right path he sees for you."

She sighed, and looked thoughtful for a while before responding. Rye hadn't really seen it like that... and she supposed Renji was right; he had to learn things all on his own, didn't have what she had growing up. Privilage had blinded her, she often forgot that. Renji's physical and emotional strength all came from his own experiences... And she had always respected him for that. And, in the end, her Onee-Chan just wanted her to be safe. He knew, probably better than anyone, how capable she was... But maybe she was underestimating the power weilded by the Arrancar. Jushiro was older, and far wiser than she, and would never make her sit out if he didn't think it was best. That's how he'd done things her whole life. Always doing what was best for his baby sister. Suddenly she had the urge to go back to the Soul Society and hug her big brother. He cared... Maybe he was a bit too over protective, but that was only because he wanted her to be safe. She smiled inwardly; That was a huge part of the reason she wanted to be in the war... So she could make sure her gentle, kind, and sick sibling stayed safe. But... He could hold his own. Probably better than anyone else in the Gotei 13. She laughed at herself - she had a tendency to ramble, evidently even if she wasn't speaking out loud. Snapping out of her thoughts, Rye pushed her hair from her eyes, yet again, and blushed, suddenly acutely aware he'd been watching her struggle with her inner dialouge this entire time. "You... are very right, Renji-kun." Her lip turned up at the corner. "Thank you. Now we should start with this shopping"

Renji watched Rye think over his words, smiling inwardly as she thanked him. Her mention of shopping made the Red-Haired Go-Into-Any-Situation-Headlong-And-Screw-The-Consequences Renji Shudder slightly. "Alright, but please don't let me make a fool of myself" Renji said, knowing that woud be a hard task for even Byakuya.
'Said Captain would have glued and sewn my mouth shut a verly long time ago if he knew what glue was' Renji thought, looking down at Rye.

Rye giggled, Renji's reputation speaking for itself. But she figured she'd be able to comply with his request. "I'll do my best, Renji-kun" she laughed, nudging his arm. Flipping her hair from her eyes for the millionth time, she tugged the list from his hand and glanced over it. Okay. There were very few things on this list she was familliar with. Her brows furrowed; the world of the living was an odd place... full of odd things with odd names. Sure, she's been here plenty, but never outside of an assignment... She looked up to the Vice-Captain with confused eyes. "What... is all this stuff?"
